Swaraj India demands Sisodia’s resignation

New Delhi: The Delhi unit of the Swaraj India on Thursday demanded resignation of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged excise scam, days after the CBI booked Sisodia and several others on the same.
“During the Anna movement, Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia always had said that if a minister is accused of corruption, he should resign till the investigation is completed. But the reality is totally different. Sisodia is still holding the minister’s post despite a case being registered against him and others for corruption in excise policy. The CBI is investigating it. Even in the case of Satyendra Jain, no action has been taken by Kejriwal till date,” Navnit Tiwari, Delhi chief of Swaraj India.
He further said, “On the contrary, Kejriwal is talking of getting rewards for saving his corrupt ministers, which is ridiculous. Sisodia should resign from his post.”

Earlier this week, Kejriwal at a town hall meeting in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad said that Sisodia should be given a ‘Bharat Ratna’ for reforms introduced in the education system in Delhi. (UNI)
