The Boeing 737 aircraft (VT-SLG) had taken off at around 6:40 am, 40 minutes later than its scheduled departure, and was expected to land in Delhi at 8:10 am, according to flight tracking site Flightradar24.

Soon after take-off, the flap transit light illuminated, prompting the operating crew to carry out standard safety checks. As a precaution, the pilots decided to return to Pune airport, where the aircraft landed safely under full emergency conditions.

“All passengers were deplaned normally. Affected passengers are being provided alternative flights or offered full refunds,” SpiceJet said in a statement.

The incident once again highlights the importance of aviation safety protocols, ensuring the safety of passengers despite technical challenges.
