Slap Showdown in Chandigarh: Girl vs Lady Cop!
Scooter with 3 riders stopped, documents demanded – ends in a street-side slap drama……
Chandigarh : An unusual scene unfolded in Chandigarh when a routine traffic stop escalated into a public showdown between a young woman and a lady constable, with both exchanging slaps in broad daylight. The incident has gone viral on social media, stirring heated debate.
According to the police, a Scooty carrying three riders — which is illegal — was flagged down by the traffic personnel for violating traffic rules. When the lady constable asked for documents, the rider allegedly pushed her, triggering a physical reaction. Eyewitnesses say the situation escalated quickly, with slaps exchanged on both sides.
The young woman involved, however, claimed self-defense, saying, “The constable slapped me first without provocation. I only reacted.” She also accused the police of misbehaving and overreacting during the stop.
The Chandigarh Police issued a statement saying that their personnel were following standard procedure and that the three people riding on the scooter posed a safety hazard. “When asked for documents, the girl misbehaved and physically pushed the constable,” a senior officer stated. However, they also assured that an internal inquiry has been initiated to ascertain exact details and context of the altercation.
Video clips recorded by bystanders show a chaotic scene, with both parties raising voices and engaging physically. The footage has since gone viral, prompting mixed reactions from the public — some criticizing the police for alleged high-handedness, others blaming the rider for violating rules and then refusing cooperation.
The police department has urged the public not to draw premature conclusions and allow the inquiry to reveal the truth. Meanwhile, legal experts say both the police officer and the civilian could face charges depending on the findings of the probe.
This shocking incident has once again raised questions about civic discipline, public-police relations, and law enforcement behavior in India’s cities.
