Singareni Coll’ achieves record turnover of Rs 14,067 cr, profits 868 Cr in current fiscal
Singareni to mine 75 mn tonnes of coal by 2022-23
Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has achieved a record turnover of Rs 14,067 crore and earned profits to the tune of Rs 868 crore in the first seven months of the current fiscal.
The company had posted a growth rate of 65 per cent in turnover, 78 per cent growth rate in the sales, 18 per cent growth in sale of power and 177 per cent growth in profits over the last financial year, SCCL said in a release here on Saturday.
SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar said that they had achieved a turnover of Rs 14,067 crore till October 2021 during the current financial year against the turnover of Rs 8,537 crore achieved for the same period in last year.
The Company, which had seen losses to the tune of Rs 1129 crore during the first seven months of the last financial year due to the outbreak of deadly virus, had overcome the crisis by taking up vaccination of all the employees and coal miners and earned profits of Rs 868 crore in the first seven months of the current fiscal, he said.
In this financial year, SCCL will create new records in production, dispatches and turnover, Mr Sridhar added.
The Coal sales was steadily increased following the demand in the country, the SCCL CMD said Singareni in the last financial year sold only Rs 6.678 crore coal in the first seven months, however, in this financial year, it had sold coal worth of Rs 11,855 crore with a growth rate of 78 percent.
Similarly, the power sales had also increased from Rs 1,860 crore in last financial year to Rs 2182 crore during this financial year with a 18 per cent growth, the release added.
