Sidhu, Channi owe explanation to Sikhs for supporting Tytler : Chugh
Chandigarh, Oct 30 (UNI) BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Saturday asked Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and PCC president Navjot Sidhu to clarify if they endorse the induction of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots accused Jagdish Tytler as a special invitee to the Delhi Congress Committee.
Sidhu had himself confessed that he barely escaped the anti-Sikh riots in 1984 and now he feels proud of being a leader of the Congress? Chugh asked.
In a statement here, the BJP leader said Tytler has been named as one of the key Congress leaders who were involved in the killing of the Sikhs in Delhi, but he along with Kamal Nath and Sajjan Kumar continue to be the blue-eyed boys of the Congress in spite of the fact that their role in provoking and engineering the riots against the Sikhs has been always highlighted by many witnesses.
He recalled how the Congress had sent tanks to the Golden Temple and had brought in the Army to cause widespread devastation.
Chugh said all Sikh leaders including Channi and Sidhu owe an explanation to the people of Punjab for being part of the Congress which had brought about heinous cases of murder and killings against the Sikhs in the past.
