Chandigarh, Dec. 15: Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday posted on Twitter a picture of him with former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, setting off speculation about the veteran off-spinner joining the party ahead of the state Assembly polls.
News of Harbhajan Singh, popularly called ‘Bhajji’, were earlier floated about of his joining BJP, which he later dismissed as fake and the rumors subsided.
Harbhajan Singh 41, is the second largest spinner wicket taker after Kumble, though his exploits as batsman in crucial stages are also well-knowm to Indian cricket fans. Having started his career on25th March 1998 against Australia h,he has 417 Test wickets and 269 ODI wickets to his credit, He retired in 215 from representing India, but plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL format. He has 2224 Test runs with 115 as his highest among 2 centuries to his credit, his joining politics will set in a new innings in his career, though his political career will be seen with equal interst by his fans.
