Mumbai : Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty made headlines after she declined a selfie request from a female police officer during her visit to the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati pandal in Mumbai on Tuesday, September 2.
Shilpa, who had skipped Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at home this year due to a family bereavement, visited the popular pandal to seek blessings. A video shared on social media shows the star walking towards the idol when a female cop tapped her on the shoulder requesting a photo. Shilpa turned, gestured with her finger, and declined the request, while her bodyguards could be heard saying, “Madam, yeh mat karo.”
Although Shilpa and her family are known for their festive celebrations, she did not bring Ganpati home this year due to the recent loss in her family. No further details were shared about her personal reasons.

On the same day, Shilpa announced the closure of her Mumbai-based restaurant Bastian Bandra, a popular celebrity hotspot, via Instagram. Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra are also facing allegations of a ₹60 crore fraud, filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, director of Lotus Capital Financial Services Ltd. Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, has denied the claims.

Shilpa is currently judging Super Dancer Season 5 alongside Geeta Kapur and Marzi Pestonji. Her latest film was Sukhee, co-starring Amit Sadh, Dilnaz Irani, Kusha Kapila, and Pavleen Gujral. She is set to return to Kannada cinema after 18 years with KD: The Devil, featuring Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, and Nora Fatehi.
