MUMBAI: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan debuted the first song from his eagerly awaited film “Jawan,” named “Zinda Banda,” on Monday. He also praised eminent Urdu poet Wasim Barelvi for allowing them to utilise one of his couplets in the Hindi version.

The song, which was written by Anirudh Ravichander, has been made available in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

Irshad Kamil wrote the song in Hindi; Vivek and Chandrabose wrote the songs in Tamil (“Vandha Edam”) and Telugu (“Dhumme Dhulipelaa”), respectively.

On Twitter, Shah Rukh posted the song in all three languages.

He posted a link to the Hindi version along with the message, “Introducing “#ZindaBanda!”

“Takrana zaroori hai, usloon par jahan aanch aaye. Toh phir zinda nazar aana zaroori hai, jo zinda ho! (One must fight when one’s morals are on the line. You only survive this conflict!”

“I sincerely appreciate Wasim Barelvi Sahab allowing us to utilise this lovely couplet with a small modification. Irshad Kamil, sir, wrote the song, and my dear friend Anirudh composed the music, Shah Rukh stated in a statement.

The celebrity dances with Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, and Lehar Khan in the joyous song from the Atlee-directed film. Shobi choreographed the song.

Anirudh, who is well-known for hit songs like “Vaathi Coming” and “Arabic Kuthu,” among others, said he was inspired to write “Zinda Banda” because Shah Rukh occupies a particular place in his heart, and he wanted to do homage to his popularity.
