y (in Iran, Israel, Palestine, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf destinations and the American Bases) during this perid, would be a horrifying estimate. Has it brought in any victory to either the American forces or Israeli commanders or the Iranian jihadi IRGC ?
Rather it has resulted in a precariously wounded World ! Crying families -for Gas in their kitchen, perplexed consumers with bigger hole in their pockets, growing numbers of retrenched workers in factories/offices, grounded Airlines and bewildered travellers missing their engagements at far-off destinations ! None can hope of an early recovery or getting their lives on track in the near future!
How many more Wars do we need, in a wounded World which is already suffering from unending Russia-Ukraine War for the last three and half years, and no visible solution in the near future. Cold war between China-Taiwan, hegemony clashes in South China Sea- among China, Japan, Phillipines, Vietnam, Thailand and others. India-Pakistan-Bangladesh ‘jihadi-stalemate’, China-India border tensions and so-on.
Energy Supply is Crippled: The West Asia War launched by the United States on Feb. 28, 2026 has devastated the world economy, disrupted Crude oil supplies; blocked Energy sources have impacted severely the economies of over 140 coun
tries. Domestic, Automobile and Airlines fuel costs have been hiked by all these nations resulting in an apprehensive squeeze in all daily life activities of citizens there.
Hormuz Strait, is the vital lifeline of crude oil for Gulf Suppliers as well as Crude Oil Buyer nations. Using it as a War weapon is a sheer blackmail, impacting commoners who do not have even an iota of interest in the war between America-Israel and Iran yet facing soaring prices of all their daily use comodities.
A plausible West Asia war front is the result of long-standing rivalries, unresolved territorial disputes, and shifting alliances. The 
region already contains multiple flashpoints—most notably tensions involving Iran, Israel, Palestine, Syria and Gulf states, some non-state actors—making escalation a constant risk. The scenario began with a trigger event, such as a direct strike on strategic infrastructure and targeted assassination of a high-profile military and political leaders in Iran. Further, an Israeli airstrike on Iranian assets in Syria followed by a retaliatory missile attack on Israeli territory could rapidly intensify hostilities. Iran, which maintains influence through allied militias across Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, responded indirectly at first. Groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon or pro-Iran armed factions in Iraq launched coordinated attacks on Israel and American bases in the region, widening the conflict beyond a single front.
Israel, prioritizing its security doctrine of deterrence, responded with overwhelming force, targeting not only immediate threats but also broader infrastructure linked to Iran’s regional network. This resulted in air and cyber operations against Iranian facilities, even inside Iran, it defence infrastructure and Atomic processing facilities. 
Such escalation drew in the United States, a key Israeli ally with military bases across the Gulf. Pre-empting, assessing that the U.S. assets could be attacked by Iran—whether by missiles, drones, or proxy forces—Washington entered the conflict directly, significantly raising its scale. Yet Iran did that and damaged some of these bases in the Gulf states like Saudi arabia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq most of these are Amercian allies and have strategic bases there.
Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE faced difficult choices. While wary of Iran’s influence, vulnerable to retaliation, faced severe attacks on US military bases on their soil, oil infrastructure and shipping lanes.
Disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the critical chokepoint for global energy supplies, has immediate worldwide economic consequences, sending oil prices soaring and affecting global markets.
Another layer of complexity arises from non-state actors and internal instability. Militant groups exploit the chaos to expand their influence, while fragile states such as Iraq, Kuwait or Lebanon descend further into political and economic crisis. Civilian populations would bear the brunt, resulting in large-scale displacement, humanitarian emergencies, and infrastructure collapse.
Deceptive Parleys and Disruptive Ceasefires: Diplomatic efforts to contain the war intensified, led by global powers such as the NATO countries, Russia, India and China, each with their own strategic interests in the region. However, mistrust and competing agendas limited the effectiveness of mediation.
The United Nations miserably failed to exert its mandate of maintaining the World Peace, bring in ceasefires at flashpoints, enforcement of its order and power and make the warring factions sit across for dialogue. Instead, the attacking power decided the Dates for Parleys, the Venue, the Agenda for discussion and dictated the terms for ceasefire. The Cyber warfare and misinformation campaign nplayed a critical role.
Ultimately, the trajectory of such a War goes up in escalation of crises and sufferings. A prolonged conflict could reshape regional alliances, weaken state structures, and create new power vacuums. Conversely, a limited but intense confrontation might reinforce deterrence while leaving underlying tensions unresolved, setting the stage for future crises. —– Editor
