Schools reopen in Kerala, 47 lac students to attend schools after 2 years

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 21 (UNI) At least 47 lakh students will return to schools in Kerala on Monday as the schools are ready to conduct offline classes after two years amid Covid-19 pandemic. About 38 lakh students from Class 1 to Class 10, as many as 7.5 lakh students from Higher Secondary section and 60,000 students from Vocational Higher Secondary will return to schools. About 1.91 lakh teachers, 22,000 non-teaching staff will also attend schools as part of the fully functioning educational institutions. According to General Education Minister V Sivankutty, the schools will function as per the Covid protocol and a mega cleaning and disinfection drive were conducted before the official opening of the students.
