SAD (Sanyukt) to Go Solo in upcoming Punjab Assembly polls
Chandigarh, Jul 27 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) President and Rajya Sabha Member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa on Wednesday made it clear that the party would not forge an alliance with any other political party for the upcoming assembly polls 2022 and it would contest all the 117 seats in Punjab on its own.
Mr Dhindsa also clarified that he had not formed SAD (Sanyukt) just to get the power, rather his and his party’s main target is to work for the betterment of the Sikh Panth and Punjab.
His party also aims to liberate SAD, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Shri Akal Takhat Sahib from the control of one family, so that the original principles of the Akali Dal can be restored, he said and added that the people of Punjab were very sad today due to the anti-people policies of traditional parties.
Terming media reports regarding his Party going into alliance with a particular party in the forthcoming Assembly Elections as a sheer rumour, Mr Dhindsa said that no talks are going on for getting into an alliance with any party.
He stressed the need to form a fourth front for the welfare of the Panth and Punjab but he never offered an alliance to any party. He has warned the people to restrain themselves from spreading such rumours.
