Rs 19,500 crores to be transferred into accounts of over 9 crore farmers

Patna, Aug 08 (UNI) BJP Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday said that over Rs 19,500 crores would be transferred into the accounts of more than nine crore farmers on August 9 and maintained that the centre was striving for farmer’s welfare.
He said that the “gimmick” of the Congress leader would not deter the government from its move taken in the interest of the people.
In a tweet Mr Modi said that the central government, as per the Swaminathan Commission report enhanced the supporting price of the farmer’s produce by one and half times.
The BJP MP said that the centre procured wheat at an enhanced support price following which Rs 80,000 crores were transferred into the accounts of farmers and claimed that more and more farmers of Punjab and Haryana benefited through this.
Mr Modi claimed that any dharna Pradarshan and gimmicks of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would not mislead the farmers of the nation.
