Heavy rains and cloudbursts devastated Uttarkashi’s roads and residences.

Heavy rains and cloudbursts in the Uttarkashi region of Uttarakhand have caused damage to roads and homes. They added that some of the cottages at a tourist resort in Gangnani in the Barkot tehsil were destroyed as a result of debris from a landslip.

UTTARAKASHI: Numerous roads, homes, and businesses were damaged on Saturday as a result of severe rainfall and cloudbursts that struck several locations in this city.

According to them, no fatalities have yet been associated with rain-related occurrences.

In the early hours of Saturday, Uttarkashi District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela requested information on the situation from the district disaster control room, according to the officials.

Inquiring about the people impacted by the rains and the harm done in their various localities, he also met with governmental officials.

According to the officials, Ruhela gave orders to all of the deputy district magistrates to make sure that all relief efforts are conducted on a war footing and that money is delivered to those in need on Saturday.

They said that landslip debris destroyed a handful of the cabins at a resort in Gangnani, Barkot tehsil.

The debris even made its way into the walls of Gangnani’s Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School.However, they said that every student was secure.

It rained extensively in the neighbourhood last night, according to warden Sarojini of Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential School, and as a result, water and debris gathered on the campus.

She claimed that when they arrived at the school, members of the State Disaster Response Force had the situation under control.

Landslides between Barkot and Gangnani have obstructed the Yamunotri national highway in numerous locations.

The officials stated that efforts are being undertaken to reopen the road to traffic.

Landslides and cloudbursts also happened in Chhara Khad, Purola.

The rubble covered a number of parked cars that were on the road.

On Saturday morning, the impacted individuals were relocated to safer locations, according to them.

A landslip also happened close to the settlement of Dhauntri.

The rains caused a disruption in the area’s electricity supply.
