Rift Between Akal Takht and SGPC Intensifies

Amritsar : The conflict between Akal Takht and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has escalated, raising concerns among Sikh leaders and devotees. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh openly questioned the supremacy of Akal Takht, stating that he always believed its orders were paramount, but recent events suggest otherwise.

The controversy deepened after Harjinder Singh Dhami resigned from the position of SGPC president. Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh urged Dhami to reconsider and withdraw his resignation, emphasizing that unity within Sikh institutions is crucial. He highlighted the importance of Akal Takht’s directives being followed without interference or contradiction.
