Resignation of Punjab Advocate General APS Deol accepted

Chandigarh, Nov 9 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday informed that the
resignation of A P S Deol as the Advocate General (AG) has been accepted.
The information was shared by Chief Minister during a press conference here. Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu was also present on the occasion.
On September 28, Navjot Singh Sidhu had tendered his resignation as PPCC president, protesting against appointments of IPS Sahota as Director General of Police and APS Deol as AG Punjab.
However, while withdrawing his resignation as Punjab Congress chief last week, Sidhu had asserted that he would resume charge only after the Punjab government replaced DGP IPS Sahota and AG APS Deol.
Deol had tendered his resignation as AG recently but the Punjab government had asked him to continue till a new incumbent is appointed.
