New Delhi, Dec 28: The resident doctors have decided to continue their complete shutdown of hospital services “at the moment” after meeting the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
The doctors said that despite assurances from the Union Health Ministry, the medicos did not receive the written apology from Delhi Police over the action taken against the agitating residents yesterday.
“We still haven’t received any written apology for the brutal use of force used by police. Besides, there is still dissatisfaction among the residents with the assurances given by the Union Health Ministry. In view of this, we are continuing the strike at the moment,” Dr Anuj Agarwal, General Secretary, Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) said.
A delegation of resident doctors’ had met with Mandaviya today afternoon and raised demands to expedite NEET PG Counselling 2021 and apology for the police action meted out at the doctors while they marched to the Supreme Court on Monday.
The delegation had asked assurances for both of their demands in writing. However, they are yet to receive that from Delhi Police and the Union Health Ministry.
