Rashtriya Ispat Nigam: Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated Jumbo Covid Care Facility
Visakhapatnam, May 30 (UNI) Union Minister for steel Dharmendra Pradhan, on Sunday inaugurated the Jumbo Covid Care Facility set up by Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant here.
The facility with 300 beds (Phase-1) out of the planned 1000-bed facility for treatment of Covid patients set up at Gurajada Kalakshetram and Hostel-1 at RINL-Vizag Steel was inaugurated by the Union Minister through virtual mode.
In his keynote address, Mr Pradhan applauded the efforts of RINL-Vizag Steel for raising to the occasion in the national interest by relentlessly working and becoming the savior of many lives pan India during this pandemic time.
The Union Minister praised the RINL team for making swift and dedicated efforts in sending the first oxygen express to Maharashtra.
He also thanked the Andhra Pradesh government for extending all kinds of support required to start this Jumbo Covid Care facility in the premises of RINL-Vizag Steel.
Union Minister of State for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste, who attended the event, complimented team RINL for providing timely relief to the suffering Covid patients with the supply of LMO and now with this Jumbo Covid Care Facility with the support of the state government and Ministry of Steel.
Earlier in his welcome address, RINL Chairman and Managing Director PK Rath, thanked the Andhra Pradesh government and Ministry of Steel for all the support they provided in starting the phase-1 of 1000 bed Jumbo Hospital facilities.
He informed that all the necessary measures are being taken by RINL to combat Covid pandemic and till date 15,000 People have been vaccinated among the RINL fraternity.
He also said that around 6,700 tons of LMO has been supplied till date by RINL to AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka during this 2nd wave of Covid.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Alla KK Srinivas and Ministers P Ramachandra Reddy and M.Goutham Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy, and Parliament Member from Anakapalle ,Dr.BV Satyavathi, attended the inauguration ceremony in virtual mode.
Appreciating the RINL-Vizag Steel for setting up of Jumbo Covid Care facilities at Vizag Steel, they also also thanked Government of India and Ministry of Steel in particular for taking initiative for the Supply of Liquid Medical oxygen which is the dire necessity for the welfare of the people of Andhra Pradesh and also for providing all the support and necessary guidance in establishing these Covid Care facilities at RINL-Vizag Steel.
The dignitaries present in the ceremony included Ministry of Steel Secretary PK Tripathy and Andhra Pradesh Government Chief Secretary Adityanath Das.
