Lucknow, Jan 31(UNI) Though various farmers’ leaders are moving with different post their 14 month old agitation against 3 Agricultural bills, which were later withdrawn, UP farmer’s leader Rakesh Tikait on Monday once again trained his guns at the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Farmers’ organizations and their leaders have different strategies in different states with a sole motto to damage election prospectus in the five states going to polls in February-March ’22.
Alleging that the Modi government still hasn’t fulfilled the promises it made to the farmers to withdraw the three farm laws last year, Rakesh declared that today (Monday) will be observed as ‘Betrayal Day’. Taking to India’s only multilingual micro-blogging platform ‘Koo’, he posted in Hindi: “By going back on the promises it made, the government has rubbed salt on to the wounds of farmers. This betrayal makes it clear that farmers of India must be prepared for a long and hard toil.” To underscore his point, he used the hashtag ‘Betrayal Day’. In November 2021, PM Modi had announced that the Centre would roll back the three contentious farm laws after a prolonged agitation by farmers.
