Rains Bring Relief to Delhi-NCR Residents
Showers cool Gurugram and Rewari; pleasant week ahead…..
Delhi : The weather in Delhi-NCR witnessed a pleasant shift as rainfall began in several parts of the region, particularly in Gurugram and Rewari, providing much-needed relief from the intense summer heat. The downpour brought a noticeable dip in temperatures and infused freshness into the air. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the region can expect similar weather patterns throughout the week, with scattered rainfall and cloudy skies dominating the forecast.
In Gurugram, the rains started early in the day, soaking the streets and creating a cool breeze that brought smiles to residents weary from the scorching heat of the past few weeks. Rewari also experienced showers, which not only cooled the environment but also gave a much-needed respite to farmers and locals dependent on weather conditions. Temperatures have dropped by a few degrees, marking a welcome change for people who had been dealing with relentless heatwaves.
Other parts of the NCR such as Noida and Ghaziabad remained under a heavy cloud cover for most of the day. Though rainfall hadn’t started in these areas at the time of reporting, the overcast conditions have kept the heat at bay. Many residents took to social media to share their delight at the change in weather, with photos and videos of rain-soaked roads and cloudy skies flooding timelines.
Meteorologists have indicated that the western disturbance and monsoonal influence are combining to affect weather in the northern plains, including Delhi and its surrounding regions. This could mean off-and-on rainfall for the next few days, which may significantly bring down day-time temperatures and improve overall air quality. For commuters and daily wage workers, the cooler conditions have been a relief, although light rain has caused slow-moving traffic in parts of Gurugram.
Authorities have advised citizens to stay updated with weather alerts, especially during morning and evening peak traffic hours. The rain, while soothing, could cause waterlogging in low-lying areas, so precaution is advised. Meanwhile, the overall mood in the region remains upbeat as the rain has turned the cityscape from sweltering to serene, with lush greenery reappearing across parks and roadsides.
