New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a dig at the government’s decision to remove the barricades at Tikri, Delhi -Haryana border and said “soon all the three anti-agriculture laws will also be removed.”
The Delhi Police on Thursday started removing barricades at the Tikri border, where farmers have been protesting for the past 11 months, to resume traffic movement on the Highway.
Talking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, “Now only the barricades have been removed, Soon all the three anti-agriculture laws will also be removed,” Annadata Satyagraha is alive!
The Delhi Police has started removing the barricades after the Supreme Court on October 21 said, “Farmers have a right to agitate but they cannot block roads. People also have right on the roads.”
Meanwhile, the top court asked the farmer unions to respond within three weeks on the issue and posted the matter for a hearing on December 7.
Earlier the farm unions alleged that the police were responsible for the blockade as the farmers have nothing to do with it.
Farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh have been protesting at Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur borders against the three contentious farm laws since November last year.
