Rahul Deshpande: Glad to receive National Film award

Pune: “I am very glad to receive this national award. It is doubly special as it’s a tribute to my grandfather, Vasantrao Deshpande, on whose life the film, which is a biopic, called ‘Me Vasantrao’ is based on. The credit goes to Director, Nipun Dharmadhikari, the producers and the entire sound department for which I got the award as a playback singer,” said Rahul Deshpande on receiving the news that he has been chosen for the national award.
“I enjoyed composing songs for this film, as well as acting and all of us had a great time,” he added.
“We had to face many obstacles while shooting but each and every second of that journey was special and satisfying. I am happy to be recognized for such an effort. I accept the award humbly and thank the jury and the entire team,” he added.
