Pune, Feb 13 (UNI) Industrialist Rahul Bajaj was cremated with full state honours at the Vaikuntha crematorium here on Sunday. His sons, Rajiv and Sanjiv, performed the last rites in presence of Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil, MP Supriya Sule, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, Collector Rajesh Deshmukh, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. The Padma Bhushan awardee and former Rajya Sabha member passed away on Saturday at the age of 83, while undergoing treatment at a hospital here. Born on June 10, 1938 in Kolkata, the eminent industrialist took over the reins of Bajaj Group in 1965. Under his able leadership, the company reached new heights of success, even in difficult times. Bajaj was the largest manufacturer of two-wheeler scooters in the 1980s. After he left the presidency of the business group, his son Rajiv took over responsibility.
