Festival consumption and stricter compliance measures boost revenue growth….
Chandigarh : After sluggish growth in the first half of FY 2024-25, Punjab’s GST collection surged by 23.67% year-on-year in the October-December quarter, reaching ₹6,518.57 crore. This growth helped the state achieve an 11.98% increase in GST revenue during April-December, totaling ₹17,318.21 crore—68% of the annual target of ₹25,750 crore.
Improved compliance, anti-evasion measures, and increased consumption during the festive season played a key role in this recovery. Punjab’s tax revenues also saw a 14.87% year-on-year rise, with contributions from stamps, registration, and excise duty bolstering overall fiscal performance.
