Punjab: Election officer Vijay Bhaskar dies in accident near Barnala

Sunday condoled the sad demise of Vijay Bhaskar Sharma (47), Assistant Director Youth Services Barnala additional charge Faridkot, who died in a road accident while returning from election duty on Saturday Evening. He was posted as Supervisor at 103 Barnala Constituency. The tragic incident took place when Vijay, who was on his way home in Longwall from his duty, suddenly fell down on Bathinda-Sangrur highway from his motorcycle and was run over by a vehicle near village Harigarh in Barnala district. He is survived by his parents, wife, a daughter, a son and a brother. In a condolence message, Mr Raju said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of our colleague Vijay Bhaskar Sharma, Assistant Director Youth Services, Barnala,”. Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, CEO Dr Raju prayed to the Almighty to give strength to the family members, relatives and friends to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief and grant eternal peace to the departed soul. He said, “As per the instructions of ECI, Ex-gratia amount to be paid to the next of kin of the official who died on election duty.”
