Punjab CM to Meet Injured Drone Victims
Free Treatment Provided to Civilians Injured in Pakistani Drone Attack
Punjab : Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is scheduled to visit the injured civilians today in the aftermath of a Pakistani drone strike in Ferozepur district. The attack, which targeted the border village of Khai Phemiki, left a family devastated after two back-to-back drone blasts struck their home. Three members of the same household were seriously injured in the incident, including a woman, who is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.
The attack took place late Saturday evening and caused panic among the residents of the quiet border village. According to local sources, the drones crossed the international border and launched explosives that directly hit a residential house. The intensity of the explosions caused substantial structural damage and injuries to those inside the house. Authorities responded swiftly, evacuating the injured to a nearby hospital, where they are now being treated free of cost as per government directives.
Chief Minister Mann condemned the drone attacks and assured full support to the victims and their families. He stated that such cowardly acts by Pakistan would not break the spirit of Punjab’s people and that the safety of border residents remains the government’s top priority. Security has been heightened across the region following the incident, with special focus on vulnerable villages along the border.
The Chief Minister’s visit is seen as a strong message of solidarity with the affected families. His administration has already deployed relief teams and is working closely with security agencies to prevent further incidents. The state has also instructed health authorities to ensure the best medical care for the injured without any financial burden on their families.
Residents of Khai Phemiki, though shaken, have expressed resilience and hope. Community leaders have thanked the government for acting quickly and providing the necessary support. The situation remains tense but under control, with law enforcement and border patrol units maintaining a high level of vigilance.
This drone attack is yet another escalation in ongoing border tensions, and it highlights the increasing risks faced by civilians living near international boundaries. The state government continues to coordinate with central security agencies to enhance surveillance and response mechanisms.
