The CM said the helicopter, given to the government by the people’s mandate, is now being put to use for humanitarian service.

“This helicopter belongs to the people, and now it will serve them in this hour of crisis,” said Bhagwant Mann.

CM’s Field Visit to Gurdaspur

During his visit to flood-hit Gurdaspur, Mann interacted with affected families and assured immediate evacuation of stranded residents from marooned villages. He added that while he would personally travel to affected areas by road, helicopters would be used exclusively for relief and rescue missions.

Relief Measures Across Punjab

The CM announced that flood control rooms have been set up in every district, with round-the-clock monitoring of water levels and rescue efforts. He stressed that the Punjab government is fully committed to compensating citizens for losses caused by the heavy rains.

Mann also stated that Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and senior officers are already stationed in flood-prone districts, working with Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and SSPs to speed up evacuation and relief distribution.

Girdawari and Compensation Assurance

The state government has ordered a special Girdawari (crop damage survey) to assess the extent of damage caused by floods. Bhagwant Mann assured citizens that the survey would be conducted fairly and that compensation will be provided without delay.

Ongoing Rescue Operations

Massive rescue and relief operations are already underway across the flood-hit districts. The CM emphasized that special focus is being placed on ensuring relief reaches every affected family, adding that the government is duty-bound to protect lives and property during this natural disaster.
