Punjab Cabinet swearing-in: 10 Ministers to take oath today
Except leader of opposition in last Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from Barnala, who have won 2nd term, other eight ministers-to-be are first-time MLAs.
Chandigarh, March 19: Punjab Cabinet formation is scheduled for today morning, with swearing in of 10 MLAs, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The party will have second state of the country under its ambit. Former leader of opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, who is a second time AAP legislator from Dirba, and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, who won a second term from Barnala, will be among those sworn in along with 8 fresh MLAs, according to party sources.
A list of 10 MLAs finalized by AAP to take oath as ministers in Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s Cabinet on Saturday in Chandigarh. Former leader of opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, who is a second time MLA from Dirba, and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, who won a second term from Barnala, will be among those sworn in. Others include: Dr Baljit Kaur from Malout, Harbhajan Singh from Jandiala, Dr Vijay Singla from Mansa, Dr Lal Chand Kataru Chak from Bhoa, Kuldip Singh Dhaliwal from Ajnala, Laljit Singh Bhullar from Patti, Bram Shankar (Jimpa) from Hoshiarpur and Harjot Singh Bains from Anandpur Sahib.
It is learnt that senior party leader Cheema may be anointed as Dy. Chief Minister in the first cabinet of the party in Punjab.
