PU Elections Underway Amid Rain; University Extends Entry Time
Departmental gates initially set to close at 9:30 AM, now students allowed until 10:45 AM
Chandigarh,: The Panjab University (PU) Campus Students’ Council (PUCSC) elections are currently underway despite continuous rainfall. The wet weather has made it challenging for students to reach polling booths on time, but leaders of various political groups are urging students to participate actively.
Entry Time Extended
Due to persistent rains, the university authorities have extended the entry time to all departments until 10:45 AM. Initially, departmental gates were scheduled to close at 9:30 AM, with only a 10-minute window for latecomers.
Administration’s Order
The university administration has announced that “Students entering the department by 10:45 AM shall be allowed to vote.” This decision aims to ensure maximum student participation in the voting process.
Polling Preparations
PUCSC election leaders and administrative officials are working together to facilitate smooth voting. Security personnel have been deployed to manage student entry and ensure a safe and organized polling environment despite the rain.
