Prashant Kishor to re-enact Gandhi’s Champaran Padyatra today

Patna: The famous poll strategies Prashant Kishor would start his Jan Swaraj Padyatra (March) from Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in Champaran on the occasion of birth anniversary of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
During his March Prashant Kishore is scheduled to cover nearly 3500 km on foot and would reach

every panchayat and block. It will take about a year and half to cover the area during which Prashant Kishore would not return either to Delhi or Patna.

Prashant Kishor said here on Saturday that Bihar was one of the leading state in the country during the decades of 50 after independence but now was in the list of most backward states and the people of this state were reeling under poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and corruption. He said the time has come when the entire situation needs to be transformed to give a better life to the people of this state.

Prashant Kishor said that through his Jan Swaraj Yatra he would try to connect to the people and create a group of people with constructive approach for development of Bihar in the next 10 years. Prashant Kishor said that for a Cardinal change, transformation in the system was essential.
Elaborating on the aims and objectives of his March, he said that through his Yatra he would try to identify the right people and bring them to one democratic platform. During his March he would also try to assess the local issues and prepare a development blueprint.
Prashant Kishor further said that his Yatra would also focus on the issues related to education, health, employment, economic development, agricultural, industrialization and Social Justice for preparing a vision document for the next 15 years on the basis of suggestions of the people and experts.
