Kolkata, Dec 4: Former cricketer Pragyan Ojha was on Saturday inducted into the Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the representative of the Indian Cricketers Association.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took this decision during its 90th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kolkata today.
Besides this, Brijesh Patel and MKJ Majumdar were elected as the two representatives in the IPL Governing Council.
The Annual Budget of FY 2021-22 was adopted by the General Body. The audited accounts for FY 2019-20 and 2020-21 were adopted by the General Body.
The BCCI also announced the formation of the Tours, Fixtures and Technical Committee, Umpires Committee and Differently Abled Cricket Committee.
Match officials and members of the support staff in the Indian cricket team can now serve till the age of 65 instead of 60, subject to their fitness. The infrastructure development of the North-Eastern States, Puducherry, Bihar and Uttarakhand will be initiated by the BCCI. Apart from this, the fate of India tour to South Africa has also been decided in the meeting, the tour will now takes place from December 26 onwards and the team will participate in the three-test match series and three match ODI series .Originally the series was scheduled to take place from December 17 onwards, which was also supposed to consist of four T20 internationals.
