Poet-diplomat Abhay Kr highlights the importance of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ in Dubai
Dubai, Nov 04 (UNI) In a literary event hosted by Indelible Literary and Arts Journal, Dubai, the Indian Ambassador in Madagascar and internationally acclaimed poet Abhay K highlighted the importance of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and how his work as a poet and as a diplomat is inspired by this ancient Indian philosophy.
The audience was highly engaged during the evening of poetry reading and discussions about the commonalities between the methods of a poet and the tools of trade of a diplomat were highlighted, such as the importance
of choosing the right words, empathy, emotional intelligence, the appreciation of nature and culture, and the widened lens through which the world is seen. During the event hosted by Roula-Maria Dib, poet and professor of English at the American University in Dubai, Abhay K. also underlined our individual and collective responsibilities towards saving our planet’s ecosystem, flora and fauna in line with the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which means Earth is one family.
Indelible is a literary and arts journal founded in 2019 by Roula-Maria Dib. It is a platform that not only features the works of many emerging and established writers, poets, and artists through the journal, but also features many notable literary figures from around the world through Indelible Evenings, an online salon hosting events ranging from panel discussions, author interviews, poetry readings, and literary festivals.
