PM Modi to interact with Covid Warriers, beneficiaries in Himachal on Monday

New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with healthcare workers and beneficiaries of the Covid vaccination program in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said.
The interaction will be done via video conferencing and is scheduled at 11 AM, it added.
The PMO informed that Jairam Thakur, Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh will also be present during the event. The event is organised in the wake of the landmark Himachal Pradesh achieved recently. The state has vaccinated 100 per cent of its adult population with at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccines, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had informed on Thursday.

The state has also become the first in the country to complete administering the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine for the 18-plus age group.
State health minister Dr Rajiv Saizal was reported saying that Himachal Pradesh will achieve full immunization of its eligible population by November.

The minister had also promised that if some people were left out of the vaccination count, it will be investigated and everyone will be vaccinated soon.

“The efforts by the state included geographical prioritization to focus on difficult terrains, initiatives to ensure mass awareness, and door to door visits by ASHA workers, among others. The state gave special attention to women, elderly, divyangjans, industrial workers, daily wagers etc. and undertook special campaigns like “Suraksha ki Yukti – Corona se Mukti” to attain this milestone,” statement by the PMO read.
