Statue of EQUALITY to become pilgrim spot in world: Telangana CM
Hyderabad, Feb 3 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday said that the ‘Statue of Equality’ (216 ft Ramanujacharya statue) at Mutchintala on the outskirts of the city would soon become a favourite spiritual and pilgrim spot in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the statue on Saturday evening. Along with his wife, Rao, who visited Mutchintala and participated in Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroh celebrations here, said this would become another spiritual centre for the crores of followers of Ramanuja. He said that the Telangana State would further make its progress with the divine blessings of Ramanuja. He said he would continue the sprit of Ramanujacharya, who is above castes and class and creed. He said that it is a great augury that Telangana State became a centre for teachings of Ramanujacharya of social equality among the citizens after thousands of years. The CM said it is wonderful that the Virat statue of Ramanujacharya who depicted equality among the people is being installed in Hyderabad in the Telangana State. The CM hailed that Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and his followers have done a marvelous job in installing the statue. The CM said this place would become a tranquil and peace place for all the tourists. He said that the statue of Equality would be a pride icon of the country. He said the preaching’s given by Ramanujacharya for equality is being followed by crores of people in the world. The CM expressed happiness over the way the preaching of Ramanujacharya are followed by thousands of years and will be followed by thousands of years later. The CM said that it is a great endeavour that Chinna Jeeyar Swamy took the responsibility of collecting the funds, and other arrangements. The CM said he congratulated the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and mission for the efforts. He said that the state government would take all the necessary responsibilities for the function. Chinna Jeeyar Swamy thanked the CM and the government for their support and cooperation. He said Vedic Scholars from Karnataka, Tirupathi, Nepal and other Vaishnavite centres would grace the occasion. He said he is happy that the state government is arranging transport for the pilgrims to come to the Centre. Chinna Jeeyar Swamy explained about the ten-day programme to the CM. The CM took blessings from the Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and enquired about the arrangements. Earlier, the CM went wound the place and supervised the arrangements. The CM inaugurated the Sathvik dining hall and a preview theatre. The CM also watched the short film on Sri Ramanuja life. He supervised the Command and Control Center for the visit of President and the PM.
