PM Modi to inaugurate Bundelkhand Expressway today

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway on Saturday in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Connecting Delhi directly with Lucknow distance of 630 km between Delhi and Chitrakoot could be covered at a high speed through this 296 km long Bundelkhand Expressway. The government claims that despite the global pandemic Corona, the Bundelkhand Expressway has been completed eight months ahead of the estimated construction period. It was constructed in 28 months.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate this four-lane expressway, built at a cost of Rs 14,850 crore, from Kaitheri Village in Jalaun district at 10.30 am on Saturday. CM Yogi and Governor Anandiben Patel will also attend the program. Modi laid the foundation stone of the expressway in February 2020.
The UP government has claimed that the expressway has been completed at 12.72 percent less than the estimated cost. This resulted in a profit of Rs 1,132 crore to the state exchequer. The share of Bundelkhand Expressway will be 296 km to cover the distance of 630 km from Delhi to Chitrakoot through various expressways. Among others, DND Flyway will share 9 km, Noida-Greater Noida Expressway 24 km, Yamuna Expressway 165 km and Agra-Lucknow Expressway 135 km.
Other than Delhi the Bundelkhand Expressway will connect people with other states as well. It will directly benefit the people of Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya and Etawah districts.
The government claims that the Bundelkhand Expressway will not only improve the connectivity in this area, it will also boost economic development as well. Industrial corridors are also being set up along the expressway at Banda and Jalaun districts and consultants have been selected for this. Due to the setting up of industries, the people will also get employment at the local level. About seven lakh saplings are being planted under the ROW of the expressway.
CM Yogi, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi and Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal have already taken stock of the preparations for the inauguration program of the expressway. (UNI)
