PM condoles demise of ‘Sudharma’ editor K V Sampath Kumar
New Delhi, Jun 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed deep grief over
the demise of K V Sampath Kumar, editor of Sudharma, the Sanskrit daily.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Shri K.V. Sampath Kumar Ji was an inspiring personality, who worked tirelessly towards preserving and popularizing Sanskrit, specially among youngsters. His passion and determination were inspiring. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
Padma Shri awardee and Editor of Sanskrit daily ‘Sudharma’ K V Sampath Kumar passed away in Mysuru on Wednesday. He was 64 and is survived by his wife.
Sudharma, possibly the only Sanskrit daily in the world, was started on July 15, 1970, by Sampath’s father, Varadaraja Iyengar.
Earlier, manually printed, Sudharma now has a computerized printing facility. An e-paper too is available online, making its reach international. More than 90 countries are accessing the e-paper.
