Phone calls on behalf of AAP seek votes for LDF candidate in Kerala
AAP spokesman calls them fake
Kochi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday urged the police and the Election Commission to take immediate action against fake recorded phone calls in the name of AAP seeking votes for Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate Dr Jo Joseph contesting in Thrikkakkakara Assembly seat.
“Thousands of voters are receiving recorded phone calls, on behalf of AAP, seeking votes for the LDF candidate. True Caller shows that the calls are being received from (phone number 7127191540) a fake account created in the True Caller Application,” Party’s State Convenor PC Cyriac said in a press release here this evening.
“More than 1800 people in Thrikkakkara Assembly constituency have marked this number as spam. This indicates that people will never approve of such manipulation,” he added.
“This is an act that violates all electoral norms and ethics during elections. The AAP has lodged a complaint with the police and the Election Commission. The concerned authorities should take immediate action against the culprits.”
Saying that the AAP is not supporting any party in Thrikkakkara bypoll, he claimed that the AAP and its ally Twenty20 have more than 25,000 votes in the constituency.
