PGI Chandigarh to offer cashless treatment under CGHS
The extension of the patient-care facility came after Avinash Rai Khanna wrote a letter to the Union health minister and demanded the empanelment of the country’s best government health institutes to the Union government’s CGHS.
Cashless treatment facilities will now be available for the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, former MP Avinash Rai Khanna said on Saturday adding that the benefits of the health scheme will be provided to both current employees as well as pensioners.

In the letter, Khanna said that the scheme has proved to be beneficial, both financially and medically but top hospitals such as PGIMER Chandigarh, AIIMS Delhi, DMC Ludhiana, Safdarjung Hospital Delhi are not empanelled under this scheme.
