Islamabad, March 30: After its ally the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) parted ways with the PTI-led government thereby reducing Imran Khan’s government into a minority in the national Assembly, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry claimed that Prime Minister “won’t step down at any cost and will fight till the last ball”, Express Tribune reported on Wednesday. Addressing media persons Fawad said “We are going to conduct an in-camera session to reveal the contents of the [threat] letter received by PM, adding for Imran Khan, resignation is not an option and I can assure you that he wasn’t asked to do so during his meeting with the army chief General Qamar Bajwa”. Comparing the situation to the 1992 Cricket World which Pakistan won under Imran’s captaincy, Fawad said, “This is a situation similar the 1992 Cricket World Cup when we seemed at the back-foot when we weren’t”. Fawad further said , the tone, threat and the “plan” stated in the letter can’t be acceptable for any sovereign country and added that the government had also offered to show the letter to the chief justice. Exuding confidence Fawad said “Everyone will see how the situation will turn into Premier Khan’s favour once the game changed.” (UNI)
