OROP Movement leader Lt. Gen. Kadyan writes an open letter to PM for Return of their medals
Now that the OROP issue has been settled by the Govt. to the satisfaction of most of the Pensioners (25 lakhs), it’s time the Medals reach back their Rightful Owners alongwith the Honours bestowed !
New Delhi: The Indian Ex-Servicemen Movement founded by Lt. Gen. (R) Raj Kadyan in 2008 with
sole purpose of pressing the Govt. of India to remove the anomaly in pensions of retired Servicesmen beloging to different organisations of the Armed Forces as same/equivalent ranks were getting different pensions upon retirement. The Movement had organised rallies and Dharnas to press their demand and create public sympathy for their issue. The Movement supported and attended by senior Army Offiers and Ranks, decided to deposit their gallantry Medals, honours (like PVSM, VSM, AVSM, Shaurya Chakra etc.) won with much toil and valour in the battle-field, with President’s office, the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, as a mark of protest in Dec. 2008.
After the NDA Govt. came to power in 2014 and settled the issue on priority, through a Notification in Nov. 2015, most of the demands of veteran pensioners were met and their arears paid in due course, the Movement leaders have been writing to the Govt. of India to get back their Medals and honours, so that these reach their rightful owners with due respect and pride.
Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Raj Kadyan, Chairman, Indian Ex-Servicement Movement, has now relased an open letter thru’ Social Media to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, requesting for return of their medals. (We at NewsOnRadar.com endorse their request–Editor)
