Organized Cricket betting racket busted in Hyderabad, 4 held
Hyderabad: The city police on Monday busted an organized Cricket betting racket by arresting four persons here.
Police seized net cash of Rs 1,04,500 and four ccell-phones from their possession.
On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Marredpally police conducted a raid at an organized betting gaming house situated at, Railway Colony in West Marredpally and apprehended Ajit Deshpande (Main Bookie), Sandeep Kulkarni (Punter) Mayur Joshi (Punter) and M Suresh (Punter), when they were accepting betting amount from the punters on the ongoing ‘T-20 World Cup’ Cricket match between South Africa and Zimbabwe, a police statement said.
The apprehended accused persons along with seized material were handed over to Station House Officer (SHO) Marredpally for taking necessary action. (UNI)
