Opposition Misleading Farmers Over Procurement- Chief Minister
Chandigarh: – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini accused the opposition of having no real issues and misleading farmers under the pretext of procurement. He said that the corruption that prevailed during their tenure has now been curtailed, and they are feeling the consequences. He assured the farmers that every grain of their produce will be purchased.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing a ‘Dhanyawad Evam Vikas Rally’ in Meham on Sunday. During the event, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs. 202 crore 77 lakh. Additionally, he announced a grant of Rs. 10 crore for constituency development and promised to review and implement all the demands presented in a memorandum submitted by the rally convener and Rajya Sabha MP, Sh. Ram Chander Jangra
Highlighting Meham’s historical significance, the Chief Minister said, the land of Meham holds a special place on Haryana’s cultural and historical map. It has always been a hub of democratic values, politics, tradition, and social consciousness. Decisions taken on the Meham Chaubisi Chabootara have consistently guided society. It symbolizes collective leadership, brotherhood, justice, and the power of public opinion, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Development Beyond Political Lines
The Chief Minister emphasized that development is pursued without considering whether a constituency is represented by a ruling party MLA or an opposition MLA. The state government works keeping every section of society in mind. Under the able guidance of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, our double-engine government follows the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
He said that in the past 11.5 years, the government has invested Rs. 1,328 crore in development projects in Meham, compared to Rs. 584 crore during the 10-year Congress regime, a substantial portion of which was lost to corruption.
To accelerate Meham’s development, 121 Chief Minister announcements were made during the BJP’s tenure, of which 105 have been completed, and the remaining are underway. We deliver on our promises. In just one and a half years, 60 of the 217 Sankalps made in the last assembly’s Sankalp Patra have been fulfilled, and work is ongoing for 157 others, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Opposition Misleading on Gate Passes
Addressing concerns over crop procurement, the Chief Minister said that the opposition is spreading misinformation about gate passes. The government has made arrangements to ensure that no farmer faces any difficulties. Duties for crop procurement have been clearly assigned, he said.
He highlighted that the government has disbursed Rs. 16,160 crore to farmers in 11 years under compensation, and the
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), compared to just Rs. 1,138 crore during the 10-year Congress regime. A pending compensation of Rs. 269 crore from Congress time was released by the BJP government after assuming office in 2014. The Congress spent the last 10 years only lying to garner votes. The interests of farmers are central to our policies, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said.
Addressing Public Concerns Amid Global Crisis
The Chief Minister expressed regret over the opposition exploiting global crises for cheap political gains. They are creating confusion through false statements. However, under Prime Under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the Central Government follows a ‘Nation First’ approach, standing with Indians during every crisis. I thank the Prime Minister for reducing excise duty on petroleum products, providing relief to the public, he added.
He assured that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or gas in Haryana, with adequate stock available across 4,032 petrol pumps and LPG agencies. Strict action has been initiated against black marketing, including FIR registrations against those found guilty, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Jobs and Education Initiatives
The Chief Minister informed that 36,000 youth were given government jobs on merit basis, contributing to a total of 180,000 jobs in 11.5 years. In Rohtak district alone, over 10,000 youth have secured government employment.
He highlighted recent infrastructure work in Meham including construction of school buildings in Kharak Jatan, Nidana, Bahalba, Ajaib, and Bahu-Akbarpur at a cost of Rs. 14.36 crore. Furthermore, a sub-miner was repaired in village Mokhra at Rs. 13.65 crore. Under the Mahagram Yojana, water supply enhancement in Nidana was undertaken at Rs. 12.79 crore, and a sewage treatment plant was built at Rs. 28 crore, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Key Development Steps and Social Welfare
The Chief Minister outlined major initiatives in the 2026-27 budget, including urban development and women’s safety measures, such as seven new women police stations in Meham, Loharu, Barwala, Narwana, Samalkha, Radaur, and Pehowa. New dialysis centers in 18 locations and 21 sports stadiums across multiple districts are planned. These include Rohtak, Jind, Kaithal, Jhajjar, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Faridabad, Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Fatehabad, and Palwal.
Furthermore, Stubble-based biomass power projects totaling 200 MW will be set up in 13 districts, including Rohtak, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
The Chief Minister said that the policy is being extended to urban areas to grant legal ownership rights to residential occupants on municipal land. The Deendayal Lado Laxmi Yojana has provided financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 to over 956,000 women and girls, totaling Rs. 834 crore. Poor women are receiving LPG cylinders at Rs. 500 per month, benefiting 1,438,000 women with Rs. 243 crore deposited into their bank accounts.
In previous governments, neither plot documents nor possession were provided
The Chief Minister said that the government has provided 1,60,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to ensure housing for the poor. Similarly, under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Urban), 18,470 plots and flats have been allotted to poor families in urban areas. However, during the tenure of opposition governments, neither documents were given, nor possession was handed over, only votes were sought, he said.
Inclusive Development Across Haryana
Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that the Chief Minister ensures development across all 90 assembly constituencies, regardless of whether the MLA is from the ruling party or the opposition. Congress misled the public for decades, but today, the interests of Haryana are safeguarded under Prime Minister’s strong leadership, he said.
Meanwhile, earlier, Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma said that Meham had lagged in development, but the BJP government had taken charge. Development work is being carried out rapidly, and schemes under the Prime Minister’s vision are benefiting all sections of society.
Rajya Sabha MP, Sh. Ram Chander Jangra, who was the convenor of the rally, reiterated that the government works keeping every segment of society in mind and expressed confidence that the Chief Minister will address the public’s demands.
Public Health and Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa, former Minister, Sh. Krishan Murti Hooda, Rohtak Mayor, Sh. Ram Avtar Valmiki and other dignitaries also attended the rally.
