On July 17, the Punjab Government will resume operating under the previous schedule.

Beginning July 17, the Punjab Government will return to the previous schedule for office hours. According to statements made by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the new schedule will reduce the use of electricity and bring relief to the general public from the oppressive heat of summer.

On July 14, the Punjab government said that its offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. again starting July 17. The Chief Secretary, Anurag Verma, has given legal orders in this area, as the Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, has asked him to do.

From July 17, 2023, all government offices in Punjab and Chandigarh will be open from 9 am to 5 pm, according to a statement from the Punjab Information and Public Relations Department.

In April, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that all government offices in the state would have new summer hours. All state government buildings would be open from 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the new schedule. During the summer, from May 2 to July 15, the new times would be used.

Mr. Mann said that the new office hours would help the state save energy and give people who go to government offices a break from the summer heat.
