No more floods in Purvanchal area: CM Yogi
Mau (UNI) Dedicating development projects worth Rs. 136 crore, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday announced that soon the Purvanchal area of the state will get rid of the flood problem permanently.
“The Jalshakti department of UP has prepared a plan to give smooth channel to the rivers so that they may flow on their natural course. In turn, this will provide a long term solution to the flood problem of the region, ” he pointed out while addressing a public rally during his short visit to Mau district. The CM reiterated his government’s commitment towards security and safety of women and girls and said besides protecting them, the development of the state will go on as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Who has thought of 4 to 6 lane highways only till a few years ago but then in the guidance of PM Modi, the state government made it a reality,” he pointed out.
Describing under-construction Purvanchal Expressway as the backbone of the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi said the entire project will give rise to the economic activities in such manner that the youths will not only get jobs but will never think of migrating to other places,
Recalling how Azamgarh was known for all wrong reasons till recently, the UP CM said the developmental activities started here during the last three years has given it a new identity.” Soon, Azamgarh will have an airport and people of this area will not have to travel to Varanasi for air travel, ‘ he said while narrating how his government embarked upon developmental activities in Azamgarh through airport and state university.
He said that the drinking water projects in Vindhya and Bundelkhand areas are some of the landmark welfare projects started by his government besides a slew of pro-farmers measures taken by his government during the last three and a half years. ” we have vowed to double the income of the farmers by 2022 and the recent legislation by the Modi government has been the right tool for this. Unfortunately, the opposition parties are consistently misguiding the farmer community by spreading rumors about MSP and Mandis being closed which is far from reality,” he asserted.
The CM said that PM Modi has taken some unprecedented steps in the past six years which are there for everyone to see and realise. ” On December 25 next, the prime Minister will transfer Rs 18000 crore in the accounts of nine crore farmers under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi,” he informed whle further pointing out that the UP government has made payment of Rs 1.12 lakh crore to cane farmers since 2017 and also revived the sugar mills which were closed during previous regime in the state.
He said the welfare of women has always been top on his government’s agenda and only a couple of days ago, he transferred Rs 445 crore in the revolving funds to benefit over 97000 Self Help Groups (SHGs).
