Nitish orders one third seats for girls in engineering and medical colleges
Patna, Jun 02 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday directed to make provisions for one
third reservation of seats for girls in engineering and medical colleges in the state.
Mr Kumar, during a meeting with officials, said that such provisions would be a unique feature and facilities for girls in the country which would immensely help in creating aspirations among the girls for higher and technical education, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the proposed bill for setting up engineering and medical colleges in Bihar would be of vital importance in providing quality technical education to students of the state. State government would establish one engineering college each in all districts of the state along with several medical colleges, he
added.
Earlier, Secretary of Science and Technology Department Lokesh Kumar Singh gave a power presentation before Chief Minister on ” The Bihar Engineering University Act 2021″ and ” Power and Function of Universities, Jurisdictions and other provisions”.
Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department also gave a presentation before the Chief Minister on “Bihar University of Health Sciences “.
