Nitish Kumar: Decision on Caste Census be taken unanimously after by elections
Any announcement for caste based census improper right now, he adds
Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that any announcement from his side on caste based census would be improper right now and maintained that decision on the issue would be taken unanimously after all party meet to be held after by elections in the state.
While talking to news persons Mr Kumar reiterated here that caste based census was important and it would be better if the centre conducts it. He said that any decision on the issue in the context of Bihar would be taken with consensus after holding all party meet. Mr Kumar said that he does not feel proper to make any announcement on it right now .
The Chief Minister said that a better report could have been procured by conducting caste based census and there was no hurdle in it. He said that in 2011 caste based census was conducted separately which resulted into several anomalies.
The Chief Minister said that only after conducting caste based census the exact condition and number of castes and sub castes would be known which would be helpful in preparing development plan for every section of the society .
He said that it was the responsibility of the centre to take a decision on it but in case it does not take any decision, the political parties would take decision on it unanimously in Bihar .
Earlier Mr Kumar leading a delegation of 10 parties had called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 23 on the issue.
