Naxals raid a village in Chhattisgarh, kill One
Dantewada (Chhattisgarh): After a period of dormancy, Maoists have murdered a village head’s tribal husband in this restive district of Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division, law-enforcement authorities confirmed on Saturday.
Bheema Barse – who was the spouse of Kuakonda block’s Rewali sarpanch – was abducted late Friday from his dwelling in remote Barrem, killed and the corpse dumped at Patelpara about 4 km away. The motive is unclear.
The area has been a rebel den for many years.
