Nathula: Army rescues 275 tourist vehicles stranded in snowfall

Gangtok, Dec 25 (UNI) ‘Due to heavy snowfall in Nathula, Tsogmu Lake and area around, the tourists
got stranded, there are 275+ vehicles of tourists there, but they are enjoying the snow,’ said Station House Officer Thinley Rabden.
Indian Army has given them shelter for tonight with food and warm clothes. If the weather is better they will be driven towards Gangtok on Sunday. Snowfall was predicted in East Sikkim Higher reaches and North Sikkim by Dr. Gopinath Raha, Director India Meteorological Department, earlier.
Heavy Snowfall also has occurred in India-Nepal Border in West Sikkim.
