Nashik: 22 dead from oxygen leak at Maharashtra Civic Hospital

Nashik, Apr 21 (UNI) Twenty-two patients, most of them on ventilator support, died on Wednesday at the civic-run Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital due to a leak in the oxygen tank, informed Nashik Collector Suraj Mandhare.
The fatal incident occurred at around 1100 hours when a mechanical error hit the refilling work of oxygen tank.
Subsequently, the oxygen supply to the patients was disrupted for next half an hour at the Hospital which is a COVID facility. As the grim news reached the district administration, officials and top police brass reached the spot. The scene became more tense as relatives of the patients swarmed outside the Hospital to aid their gasping kin.
