Nanded, Apr 6: Maharashtra and District Guardian Minister Ashok Chavan on Wednesday visited the residence of prominent builder Sanjay Biyani, who was allegedly shot dead by unidentified perpetrators on Tuesday, and consoled his grieving family. Later talking to newsmen here, he said that the murder of Sanjay Biyani was a shocking incident, such an incident never happened in history of Nanded and assured that the assailants would be arrested soon. Chavan further said that Biyani’s murder has posed a question on law and order situation in the city and added that police department will investigate the matter and nab the culprits very soon. Meanwhile, police has launched a manhunt for perpetrators and detained 45 suspects in this connection. In a related development, a meeting of high-level police officials was held with Chavan at district collector’s office here, in which a decision to appoint Special Investigation Team, led by Upper SP Vijay Kabade, was taken. The SIT will submit its report very soon and will nab the assailants soon. In protest of Biyani’s murder, traders and businessmen observed a ‘bandh’ today in Nanded. (UNI)
