MP Raghav Chadha calls for a Bill on Tokenisation, supports Digital Currency in Parliament
New Delhi: Punjab’s Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha offered three major suggestions to the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. He spoke for passage of a Tokenisation Bill and regulatory sandbox to enable fractionalized ownership of digital Tokens using blockchain technology.
Member Raghav Chada also suggested for a Tax on Consumption Bill, so that it nurtures investment and the patient domestic investors should be rewarded, not penalised. He praised GST 2.0 as a landmark reform but without complete pass-through it remains an incomplete reform. His points were appreciated by the senior Members across Party lines. The House was being presided over by Shri Dinesh Sharma, Dy. Speaker, a senior Member of Presiding Officers panel. (media courtsey-Sansad TV).
